Citizen Rights Protection Council (CRPC) is a non-profit civil rights organization committed to protecting and promoting the constitutional, civil, human and legal rights of citizens across India. The Council works through a network of advocates, social activists, legal professionals, grassroots workers and community volunteers to support individuals and communities facing injustice, exploitation, discrimination and violation of their legal rights.
Established with the objective of strengthening Justice, Equality, Dignity and Rule of Law, CRPC focuses particularly on vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of society and works to ensure that every citizen has access to justice, legal awareness and appropriate institutional support.
Our Major Areas of Work
1. Citizen Rights
CRPC works for the protection of the basic and constitutional rights of citizens. It raises awareness about legal rights and assists people in understanding the appropriate legal and institutional mechanisms available to them.
The Council addresses issues relating to illegal detention, unlawful harassment, discrimination, denial of basic rights, abuse of authority and other violations of citizens' legal and constitutional rights.
2. Consumer Rights
CRPC works to create awareness among consumers regarding their rights and available legal remedies against unfair trade practices.
The organization addresses complaints and issues relating to consumer fraud, defective products, deficient services, misleading advertisements, overcharging, unfair business practices and exploitation of consumers by manufacturers, service providers and commercial establishments.
CRPC promotes consumer awareness and encourages citizens to use appropriate statutory and legal forums for the protection of their consumer rights.
3. Labour Rights
CRPC works for the dignity, safety and legal rights of workers, particularly those belonging to vulnerable and economically weaker sections.
Its work includes awareness regarding minimum wages, timely payment of wages, workplace safety, forced labour, exploitation, unlawful termination, discrimination, working conditions and other labour-related rights.
CRPC also promotes awareness against bonded labour, trafficking and exploitation of workers, while encouraging lawful and peaceful mechanisms for resolving labour disputes.
4. Child Rights
Protection of children is an important area of CRPC's social and legal awareness work.
CRPC works to promote children's rights to protection, education, dignity, safety and development and raises awareness against child labour, child trafficking, exploitation, abuse, forced labour and other forms of violence against children.
The Council supports awareness, community participation and appropriate institutional intervention for the protection and rehabilitation of children in accordance with applicable law.
5. Women's Rights & Violence Against Women
CRPC works to promote the safety, dignity, equality and legal rights of women.
The Council raises awareness and provides appropriate guidance regarding issues such as domestic violence, harassment, dowry-related offences, sexual harassment, stalking, abuse, discrimination, trafficking and other forms of violence against women.
CRPC encourages victims and affected families to approach the appropriate police, legal, judicial and statutory authorities and works to strengthen awareness regarding available remedies and protections under law.
6. Police Accountability, Harassment & Atrocities
CRPC works for awareness and lawful intervention in cases involving alleged police harassment, illegal detention, custodial violence, custodial deaths, abuse of authority, false implication, unlawful pressure and other alleged violations of citizens' rights.
The Council promotes accountability, transparency and adherence to due process while encouraging citizens to use appropriate complaint and legal mechanisms against alleged misconduct by public officials.
CRPC does not seek to replace the police, courts or statutory authorities; rather, it works to assist citizens in understanding their rights and approaching the appropriate competent authorities through lawful procedures.

Awareness, Investigation & Institutional Support
CRPC may receive information and complaints concerning alleged violations of rights and, within its organizational mandate and applicable law, may verify facts, document grievances, facilitate communication with concerned authorities and guide affected persons towards appropriate legal or statutory remedies.
Where necessary, CRPC works with advocates, social workers, experts, community representatives and other appropriate institutions to support lawful resolution of grievances.
The organization also conducts seminars, training programmes, workshops and public awareness campaigns to educate citizens about their legal rights, duties and available remedies.
